Simon Lewis
Chief Executive Officer
Simon Lewis was appointed chief executive officer of GFMA in January 2012 and chief executive of AFME in October 2010. Previously, he was Director of Communications and the Prime Minister's Official Spokesman at 10 Downing Street. He has held a number of senior corporate roles, including Director of Corporate Affairs at Vodafone, Centrica, and NatWest. He was appointed as the first Communications Secretary to The Queen in 1998.
He is a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University, from which he has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He also holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley as a Fulbright Scholar. He is a visiting professor at the Cardiff School of Journalism. Simon is Chairman of the Fulbright Commission and a member of the Development Council of the National Portrait Gallery.
Vickie Alvo
Executive Director
Vickie Alvo was appointed Executive Director of GFMA in 2011, previously serving as Vice President for member engagement at SIFMA. Prior to joining SIFMA, she was an economic policy analyst for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, responsible for economic development initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa. She has also held positions at JPMorgan Chase and the White House Office of Management and Budget. She holds a BA in Political Science from McGill University and an MBA from The Wharton School.
