GFMA Welcomes BIS Commitment to the Development of a Global Code of Conduct for FX Markets

Driving this through the Basel Committee will help reduce duplication and create a common reference point for the industry on a global basis. This is an opportunity for market participants to work with regulators and supervisors to demonstrate that they can put the right controls and guidance in place. "Sitting above the existing regional codes, these principles will ensure practices across the global FX market are consistent and coherent for the benefit of all market participants, and we believe will support further regional code alignment.
